We are looking for an experienced Construction Benchworker/Ship Mechanic for challenging work within shipbuilding and ship repairs. As a construction bench fitter, you will be responsible for assembling, disassembling and maintaining various mechanical parts on ships, such as propellers, propeller shafts, rudders and seals. It is a versatile job in which you work with precision tools and heavy mechanical systems.
You will also ensure that all work is performed accurately and in accordance with technical drawings and specifications. You must be proficient with measuring tools such as calipers and inner and outer micrometers. Experience with lifting techniques and rigging is also a requirement. It is also possible to apply for this position as a Zzp'er.

Wat wij zoeken
- Assembly and disassembly of marine propellers and propeller shafts.
- Installation and replacement of seals and bearings for propeller shafts and rudders.
- Maintain and repair rudders including all associated bearings and seals.
- Working with various types of seals and bearings in a marine environment.
- Accurate measurement with calipers, inner and outer micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Perform rigging work, such as hoisting with hoists, cables and cranes.
- Use of various tools and machines such as hydraulic presses, lathes, milling machines and drilling machines.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and shipbuilding specialists to complete the project within the specified time and quality standards.
Wat wij vragen
- Demonstrated work experience as a construction bench fitter or ship mechanic, preferably in shipbuilding or ship repair.
- Experience assembling and disassembling marine propellers, propeller shafts, bearings and seals.
- Experience working with measuring tools such as calipers, inner and outer micrometers.
- Skilled in rigging (hoisting with hoists, cranes, etc.).
- Knowledge of various tools and machines, such as lathes, drills, grinders and hydraulic systems.
- Independent work attitude and problem solving skills.
- In possession of a VCA certificate or willingness to obtain one.
- Driver's license B is a plus.
